General Information
Reading
In Year 4 we love reading. Reading is at the heart of everything we do. We encourage our children to be fluent and confident readers, who enjoy a wide variety of rich texts. To help children develop their fluency we expect children to read at home at least 4 times a week, recording what they read in their reading records. Children should bring reading books and records in to school every day. Reading records are checked and books will be changed each Monday.
Homework
In Year 4, the children will be given Maths and Spellings as homework each Friday. The children are also expected to work on their timestables using there Timestables Rockstars log in.
PE and Swimming
In Year 4, we have one PE lesson and a swimming lesson each week from September until February half term. PE is currently on Tuesday and Swimming is on Wednesday. After February half term the children will take part in 2 PE lessons each week. Please ensure your child comes into school in the correct school PE and is suitable for outdoor PE when appropriate.
Multiplication Check
In Year 4, the children are expected to complete a statutory Multiplication Check. This takes place in June each year. Please support your child in learning their timestables up to 12 x 12.
