We love reading at St. Peter's and aim to foster that same love of reading in our children and families by encouraging our children to read up to 4 times each week. Reading practice helps build fluency and comprehension, as well as to develop a better understanding of the world and explore new ideas. Children can change their books and select a new one as soon as they finish, so please ensure they have them available every day. Please ensure that your child’s planner is signed once a week to confirm that they have read at home.
Children receive homework every Friday to be collected the following Wednesday. They will receive spelling, maths, reading and writing homework that links to their learning.
Year 3 have PE lessons on Wednesdays and Fridays. Please ensure your child comes into school in their PE kit on these days. For the safety of our children during PE days, we kindly request that earrings are removed before they come to school and that no other jewellery is worn.
In Year 3, we have high expectations for learning, behaviour and responsibility as the children begin their journey into key stage 2. Good attendance is vital, as missing lessons can make it difficult for children to keep up with their learning and build the skills they need for the year ahead.
We invite all parents to dive into our Curriculum, a unique educational journey designed to ignite your child's curiosity and passion for learning. Discover how we nurture creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love for knowledge, making every day an adventure in education. Your child's dreams start here!
